I love chocolate. It gives me a euphoric feeling that builds me up so I can face the day. It's delicious, smooth, and just about the best food ever made. Hershey is my favorite; Sees is right up there and the Swiss can make chocolate like they were cooking it for heaven.
Having said all that, I shouldn't eat it. It's one of the many good foods that raises my blood sugar, makes me fat, and probably does a hundred other bad things that I don't even care to consider. When I told my doctor I would need to cut it out of my diet, she said naively, "Oh, a piece every once in awhile is good."
What she doesn't seem to understand is having a once-in-awhile piece of chocolate for a chocoholic is like an alcoholic drinking a glass of wine. One taste of that yum candy is a disaster because it leads to another taste, and another, and... Well, you know what I mean. For me it would mean eating a half-pound Hershey bar in one sitting and then looking for more.
Ah, the things we have to give up. I miss you, Chocolate.
